The Academic Senate Committee on Student Activities met on September 20, 2018 1 pm

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 1:00

The meeting was called to order by the Chair Kimberly Riegel

Discussed the logistics for the Volunteer fair.  Rain is forecast and if it rains we may be able to go underneath the Science Atrium.  Currently the location is scheduled for the quad.  

There are six Volunteer organizations participating. 

NYU Winthrop

American Association of Men in Nursing

Queens Library

Long Island Children’s Museum

New York Presbyterian

Foundation for a drug Free world

The move of Starbucks was discussed.  Sending a faculty survey to determine the faculty support was suggested.  KR will reach out the library committee to collaborate.

Creation of a how to document about promoting a student event was discussed to help facilitate communication with students.  SA will reach out to marketing to get the ball rolling on this.
