The Academic Senate Committee on Student Activities met on December 15, 2023 at 11:00AM (Virtual)


Committee Members in Attendance:

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 11:04 AM

1.) Called Meeting to Order: 11:04 AM (Virtual Meeting)

2.) Approval of Meeting Minutes from October 17, 2023

3.) Updates to Student Survey

  • Members discussed deployment of student survey aimed at gathering data about student involvement in campus events and communications about events.
  • Members supported deploying the survey to students in early February and keeping responses open for 2 weeks.
  • Chairpersons offered to reach out to Ian Beckford and Student Activities about distribution strategies.

4.) Plans for Spring 2023 Volunteer Fair

  • Members discussed potential dates for the annual Volunteer Fair.
  • Tentative dates were selected (Primary Date: Club Hours 4/17/23, Rain Date: Club Hours 5/1/23). Chairperson Schrynemakers offered to reach out to reserve location.
    • Members supported reserving the Humanities Quad.
    • Members supported overlapping the fair with another campus event to increase student traffic. It was suggested that the committee check in with Student Government/Student Activities early in the semester to see if any major events are being planned around the tentative fair dates.
