Study Abroad

NOTE: CUNY’s study abroad programs are being phased in on a case-by-case basis. For information on the process, please consult the Study Abroad Office/ International Education Liaison of the campus offering the program(s) you are interested in.

Study abroad programs offer students the opportunity for personal growth and global understanding. Students gain insights into other cultures, develop new perspectives, and learn to reflect on their own culture.

Working with universities worldwide, CUNY provides high quality integrated winter and summer opportunities. Prospective applicants can consult a list of programs sorted by country, college, and program or can obtain general information about study abroad. To determine whether your program of interest is active, be sure to contact the school offering the program directly.

Before selecting a program, students should be aware of how their study abroad classes will satisfy their degree requirements. To this end, students can view their outstanding curriculum requirements through their degree audit in their CUNYfirst account.

Students are accepted to study abroad programs based on their GPA at the time of application. However, a 2.0 GPA must be maintained prior to departure in order to process an ePermit for a CUNY overseas program. Applicants who wish to determine their academic eligibility for study abroad can download their unofficial transcript.

For program details such as price, application deadlines, and procedures, please visit the host college's study abroad website or contact the host college. In addition, we kindly request a copy of any application submitted to a CUNY host college.

As an institute of the City University of New York, Queensborough is committed to providing the community it serves the opportunity to live, learn, and work free from sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, and sexual violence. Before embarking on a study abroad program, both faculty and student participants are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with CUNY's Title IX policy.

To help fund their study abroad experiences, students can review scholarship opportunities.
