Queensborough Community College faculty received over $80,000 in funding as part of CUNY’s historic Black, Race, and Ethnic Studies Initiative (BRESI).
More than 500 proposals were submitted from across CUNY and were evaluated by members of the BRESI Council and nine Benefits for Proposals (RFP) committees. A total of 126 proposals have been selected for funding, including those that demonstrated such qualities as innovation, focus and impact on development of ethnic studies, and sustainability; emphasis was also placed on representing a broad cross-section of the CUNY community. These awards have been conferred for a project term of September 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
“I want to offer my sincere congratulations to my colleagues, Punita Bhansali, Nicole McClam, Trevor Milton and Agnieszka Tuszynska on being awarded BRESI grants for their research,” said Margot Edlin, Ed.D., Interim Dean of Faculty, Office of Academic Affairs. “This is a tremendous honor for them, both personally and professionally, as well as for the college. I look forward to seeing the results of their hard work.”
