Queensborough Community College Partners with Transfer Scholars Network
Program Provides Pipeline For High-Achieving Community College Students To Realize Their Transfer Aspirations
Deadline For Student Applications For Fall 2023 Is January 27
Queensborough Community College announces its partnership with the Transfer Scholars Network (TSN). Led by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program with support from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, the national transfer pipeline works to connect high-achieving community college students to dedicated admissions representatives from top four-year colleges with some of the nation's most generous financial aid programs. This program accepts nominees every semester.

According to Transfer Scholars Network, 700,000 community college students nationwide from diverse socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds entering community colleges each year intend to transfer and attain a bachelor’s degree.
Yet just 14 percent of them transfer, deterred by a perceived lack of affordability, a complex application process, and unclear information about the transfer experience. Annually, nearly 50,000 low-and moderate-income community college students with the academic credentials to excel in our most competitive colleges ultimately do not transfer, with 15,000 of these students earning at least a 3.7 GPA or higher.
TSN scholars are better positioned to gain admission to and excel at colleges and universities where they have the highest likelihood of graduating with a bachelor’s degree.
Eligible students must excel academically, represent diverse backgrounds, and positively impact the campus and communities. Partner colleges nominate students then student nominees submit their applications to TSN.
Renée Rhodd, Director of the Transfer Resource Center at Queensborough and liaison with TSA said, “It cannot be overstated how our partnership with TSN will open new doors for our students who otherwise might not have this opportunity.”
