Dr. Celia Sporer

Dr. Celia Sporer has been a professor of Criminal Justice in the Social Sciences Department at Queensborough Community College-CUNY for eight years. In addition to teaching several criminal justice courses and acting as the Justice Academy coordinator, Dr. Sporer works regularly with students and conducts her own research focusing largely on criminal justice educational issues and the first responder community. Dr. Sporer’s first responder research focuses on the health and well-being of EMS providers, a population near and dear to her heart given her 15 years of work as a NYC paramedic and her unique understanding of this population and the challenges they face. Dr. Sporer is a strong advocate for good mental health and opportunities for success.
