As a first generation college student ASAP provided me with the support I needed to obtain my Associates in Applied Science.This was something that seemed impossible due to my financial burden. However, I am thankful that opportunity programs like ASAP exist. Not only did ASAP help me obtain my degree but additionally it helped build my confidence and my motivation to succeed in every opportunity presented. I currently attend SUNY Farmingdale and hold a position within ASAP as the FCI student engagement specialist.
Luigy Rivas
Being part of the ASAP program really helped me step out of my comfort zone and open up to all of my peers and mentors. It provided a sense of home and motivation to keep pushing myself forward while also building strong relationships with members of the ASAP program. I’m currently studying Digital Design at City College and working in the ASAP department as a Social Media Intern which allows me to work on my graphic design skills.
Rachel Jerome
Having the opportunity to be a part of the ASAP program provided me with support that helped mold my personal and professional development. The comprehensible personalized advisement gave me the tools necessary to be a successful student in my college career. Thanks to ASAP I was able receive my Associates in arts degree in liberal arts with a concentration in psychology. The ASAP program will always be the first milestone I accomplished in my success journey. Now I am an ASAP Alumni and a college assistant for the office while also attending CUNY Queens college where I am majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology.
