Letter from the Faculty Executive Committee

Dear Colleagues,
As the Faculty Executive Committee (FEC), we are delighted to welcome you into our community. QCC has a long history of academic excellence and innovative initiatives in education that take place within a community that values the diversity of its members. It is a place where faculty take pride in their commitment to serving students, promoting their success and using best practices in teaching/learning.
The Faculty Executive Committee is an integral part of the governance of our College and committed to supporting the rights of the faculty. The Faculty of Queensborough Community College exercise the functions as defined by the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees of the City University of New York and all other functions customary and proper for a college faculty. The Faculty shall be responsible for the academic status, role, rights, obligations, and freedoms of the Faculty, and such other matters that may affect the welfare of the Faculty. The FEC acts as the principal agency of the Faculty in carrying out its Bylaw responsibilities. The Faculty through its FEC shall have access to all relevant information as it deems necessary for the fulfillment of its responsibilities. Any requests for clarifications of meaning and interpretations of the Faculty Bylaws are to be directed to the FEC who are the interpreters of its meaning at the College. It is important to note that the Faculty through its FEC may address communications to the Board of Trustees.
